Prinz Von Hessen Johannisberger Klaus Riesling Auslese 2009, Rheingau, Germany 375ml

Based in Johannisberg in the Rheingau, the winery ranks amongst Germany’s finest Riesling producers. Numerous accolades, national and international, reflect the extraordinarily high quality of the wines. The Riesling vines are cultivated on the top sites of the Rheingau, among them such prestigious names as Johannisberger Klaus, Winkeler Hasensprung and Winkeler Jesuitengarten. Ninty-five percent of the winery’s vineyards are dedicated to the Riesling grape.

The wine harvest took place at the beginning of October. In order to receive a fresh fruit of the wine an intensive negatively selection was needed. The grapes were then carefully pressed in the cellar of the estate. The fermentation in cooled high-grade steel tanks underlines again the freshness and the fruitiness of the wine.

The Johannisberger Klaus Riesling Auslese appears with a honey yellow colour. The bouquet displays apricot and peach aroma as well as floral notes. At the palate the taste shows caramel and honey notes. The finish lingers with an intensive aftertaste.
