Thorne & Daughters Rocking Horse Cape 2020, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Sémillon, Roussanne, Clairette, Western Cape, South Africa*

HK$254.00

Thorne and Daughters Wines was started in 2012 by John and Tasha Seccombe to produce authentic wines in the beautiful Western Cape.

To produce wines they’ve drawn on the great history of wine growing here in South Africa, putting together old vineyard parcels with new grape varieties, and making wines with old school simplicity and a modern ‘edge’. The approach to wine making is simple, honest and gentle, and we are looking to make wines that tell a story of the Cape of Good Hope.

Rocking Horse is our cornerstone wine and takes its name from a wooden rocking horse that we made for our daughters out of old oak barrel staves. This is our signature wine and it is where all our work comes together to make our most complete wine.

The wine is composed from a number of carefully selected vineyard sites in the Western Cape. Notes of hay, wild honey and nut brittle aromas on the nose lead into a rounded, intense palate of honeybush, yellow plums and a subtle gun flint smokiness with a long full bodied finish.
