A fusion of two very different worlds - one brimming with spindrift, peat smoke and famed distillieries; the other, sun-baked, sub-tropical, and celebrated for its dessert wine. Yet somehow, it works a treat. Big Peat has hand-selected Madeira wine casks in which to finish their robust Islay malt - adding layers of rich fruitiness, spiced citrus and toastred oak to his signature phenolic, smoke-heavy character.
The result? A hearty dram with just the right balance of warmth and indulgence, Hebridean gales and warm Atlantic breezes.
