Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of a careful selection by the Rodenbach brewers of the best cask after 2 years of aging, with the beer from that cask being crowned 'cask of the year'. The label always mentions the cask number, and the year indicates the start of the aging process. Rodenbach Vintage consists of 100% old, matured beer, resulting in a sublime Rodenbach Grand Cru.
The beer has a complex, rounded, intense, and refreshing flavor. Notable is the malic acid fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey, oak, and hints of vanilla, cherry, and licorice.
The aroma features notes of caramel and oak, along with hints of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The lightly sour, fruity finish is long and beautifully balanced, comparable to a grand cru wine.
