Myers's original Dark Rum is distilled in Jamaica under government supervision for Myers Rum Company LTD Nassau Bahamas, successors to Fred L. Myers & son. Founded 1879 Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies. Since 1879 the name Myers's has been recognized as the world's finest, full-bodied rum. Produced in Jamaica, Myers's rum continues to be distilled in the traditional pot still method and allowed to mature in white oak barrels. It is this final aging period that plays a critical role in determining the distinctive dark color and rich, buttery flavor that is synonymous with Myers's.
