This Clos du Bourg covers an area of 6 hectares and is bordered by stone walls and is located in Première Côte vines up the hill from the church of Vouvray. In the 7th century, it was a fiefdom of the collegiate church of Saint-Martin de Tours. Its soil is fairly thin, with an average depth of one metre, and thus in direct contact with non-active limestone rock. The Clos du Bourg produces a powerful, well-structured wine that is sold in both demi-sec and sweet versions. A more highly concentrated cuvée also exists: the Mont 1ère Trie.
Finest sweet wines from Vouvray and a sublime expression of Chenin. Fruity, flavourful, fresh and mineral.
